Yes means yes, no means no, yes now could be no in a minute, a no now could magically turn into a yes. It's garbage, all of it. Since when were we all gagged and hogtied when it comes to speaking our minds, communicating with each other, and more importantly, being accountable for our actions?
Rape is a horrid, traumatic crime. Having drunken willing sex with a guy you would not fuck sober, does not a rapist make. It makes you a drunken woman doing a stupid thing, not taking proper regard for your own well being or safety and then forced to reckon with possible unpleasant, perhaps even life altering, aftershocks.
It's time to grow up and take responsibility for our own actions. If you have no stake in your own mental, physical and spiritual health, why should the rest of the world care when you commit dumb actions that end badly for you?
Colleges are acting as the parents apparently absent in the lives of young adults in this country. Leading them by the hand and bombarding them with propaganda and silly overbearing slogans aimed at impressing upon them that they are not capable of mature, adult behavior, but in fact are all inflicted with the skills of adolescents unfit to take care of themselves or use their own intelligence to lead them through life.
It's been decades since the women's movement. Are society and the media really conspiring to force us back into the dark ages by portraying the women of today as coy, manipulative, game players (unable to clearly express "yes" or "no") or as weak, stupid flakes more closely resembling the "inferior sex" stereotype of bygone days (mere children not qualified to know what they want or think, never mind make their own decisions)? An even more frightful scenario, does either one actually reflect the reality?
By passively sitting on the sidelines, allowing ourselves to be pigeonholed as the weak victims wallowing in our victimhood, instead of the strong, intelligent, confident beings we are, is a disservice to all human kind, male and female.
